Herbert V. Johnson, PE, established the firm in 1985. Over the years, we have evolved into one of the largest specialty, minority-owned engineering companies in Texas. Each of our laboratories is accreditated to meet the requirements of local and state government agencies. Our Houston laboratory is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation in the fields of geotechnical and construction materials testing. The Austin laboratory is accredited by the American Assocation of State Highway and Transportation Officials in the fields of soils and aggregates. This facility is also accredited by the Cement and Concrete Research Laboratory in the field of concrete. Our Dallas laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials in the fields of soils, aggregates, and asphalt. The El Paso laboratory is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation in the fields of soils and aggregates. This facility is also accredited by the Cement and Concrete Research Laboratory in the field of concrete and by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the fields of soils, concrete, and aggregates.
