Minute Maid Stadium
We conducted borings for foundation design and dewatering
control for the stadium.
The borings were drilled in some of the oldest
parts of Houston where utility conflicts and historical
structures posed numerous challenges. HVJ won an engineering
excellence award for the project in 2001 from the Consulting
Engineering Council of Texas.

Reliant
Stadium, Houston, Texas
HVJ conducted field inspection of structural steel, bolts,
metal decking, visual welds, and full penetration welds.
We performed ultrasonic testing of full penetration welds
and visual inspection of reinforced steel. We also performed
inspection of reinforcing steel and structural steel at
the fabrication shop and at the project site for compliance
with all project specifications and those of the American
Welding Society Standards.

Metropolitan
Transit Authority
We provided annual soil and materials testing for new
HOV, Park-and-Ride, and bus operating facilities. HVJ
engineers inspected piers, fill material, and lime-stabilized
base materials for parking lots. We also tested concrete
and asphalt, and visually inspected structural steel.

Harris
County Toll Road Authority's Westpark Tollway
We provided construction materials engineering and quality
control oversight for phase II of the 12-mile project,
from US 59 west to Beltway 8 in Harris County.

Construction
inspection
We have provided construction inspection for the Coastal
Water Authority's 84-inch pipleine in Bayport, the Harris
County - Houston Sports Authority's downtown arena, the
George Bush Intercontinental Airport expansion project,
and various surface water transmission systems.

South Beltway 8
HVJ provided construction inspection services for ten
miles of Beltway 8, a gigantic loop that circles around
the outskirts of Houston. We oversaw operations at multiple
concrete batch plants and monitored slump, temperature,
and the materials used. We also verified the operational
status of mixing trucks.
