HVJ offers consulting services on hazards within facilities-namely,
asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, and indoor
air quality. Our firm has specialists in each area that
are experienced, state licensed, and accredited with the
EPA.
For building owners with asbestos in-place, we can design
a program for managing the hazard. Or if a building is
about to be renovated, we can design and monitor an asbestos
abatement project.
Like asbestos, lead too is getting more and more attention
from building owners and management companies. New regulations
governing lead in public housing and daycare facilities,
along with OSHA regulations regarding lead exposure in
construction and renovations have heightened the awareness.
HVJ conducts surveys to find and quantify the presence
of lead. We can design and oversee an operations and management
(O&M) plan or carry out a full-scale abatement. We
have performed literally hundreds of abatements.
Finally, air quality is getting tremendous attention thanks
to fungi, or as most people call it, mold. Like other
hazards, we investigate, evaluate, and remediate biological
contaminants. We employ state-of-the-art procedures, and
follow EPA and New York City Department of Health guidelines-the
strictest in the country.
