HVJ provided geotechnical and environmental engineering services for the mass grading associated with excavation of the lakes and new main channel and placement of earthen benches on the Trinity River side of the east Dallas floodway levee for the future Trinity Parkway.  HVJ's scope included geotechnical investigations for utility relocations and bridge pier modifications, a force main replacement, 60-inch re-use water line at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plan, four utility crossings, and investigation of nine bridges (Continental Avenue, Union Pacific RR, Commerce Street, IH 30, Houston Street, Jefferson Boulevard, IH 35, Cardiz Street, and Corinth Street). Environmental services included a Phase II ESA to determine presence of total metals, volatile organic compounds, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons soils – from upstream of Westmoreland Road to the Corinth Street viaduct.
