Employee Feature: Introducing Kate Johnson, P.E.

October 1, 2026

HVJ South Central Texas welcomes Kate Johnson, P.E., who recently joined our team as a Senior Civil Engineer. Kate is focused on expanding our Civil Engineering services in public infrastructure markets, and she's already playing an important role in developing proposals and developing client relationships.

Kate brings two decades of water and wastewater engineering experience across the U.S. and internationally. She has a proven track record in leading complex infrastructure projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and growing organizations through thoughtful business development and lasting client partnerships. A systems integrator at heart, she's most energized by work that leaves a lasting mark—whether that's helping a small community access critical infrastructure or shaping environments designed to inspire, engage, and endure.

Kate explains,  “I’ve always been drawn to projects where I get to see the direct impact made in people’s lives.  I’m excited to expand the HVJ civil engineering service offerings, build a team, and continue serving my community through sustainable, innovative solutions.”

Kate earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering and French from Ohio Northern University in 2007 (Go Polar Bears!) and is a licensed PE in Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas. Outside of work, she's an avid traveler and language learner who loves exploring new parks and rivers with her daughter, Olivia, and their three poodles.

Please join us in welcoming Kate to the HVJ team!
