Managing Multi-Site Projects with Agility and Teamwork

September 25, 2024

Strong project management and team agility are foundational for project success. Yet, they can be challenging to achieve for complex or multi-site projects. In our recent TxDOT Corpus Christi District project, we needed to carefully coordinate among teams and promptly resolve delays for bridge replacements at nine locations throughout five counties.

Project Manager Santiago Chavarro shares his thoughts: "I take pride in work that impacts the community by providing safe and reliable transportation networks. However, keeping the project on schedule across counties and sites was not easy. In addition, we had to quickly resolve delays resulting from things like heavy rainfall, difficult access in remote areas, and equipment breakdowns."

Santiago sees complex projects as opportunities for professional growth. He challenges engineers to broaden their experience while working in a collaborative environment. Solving problems quickly and maintaining transparent communication with the client require teamwork and a shared sense of purpose.
