Geotechnical
Engineering
Soil, rock, and groundwater conditions at every site are different. We assess the specific site conditions and design earth structures (slopes, channels, and dikes), foundations (retaining walls, bridges, buildings, tanks), and subsurface structures (clarifiers, lift stations, buried utilities, tunnels) to economically achieve the specific project objectives.

HVJ Associates® will be implementing a city-wide pavement evaluation project for the City of Corpus Christi, TX. Skillful communication and deep knowledge of pavement management will be essential to the project’s success as HVJ coordinates with Roadway Asset Services (RAS), Cartegraph, and LJA Engineering to support the city in improving their roadway infrastructure.
Serving as the prime engineering consultant, HVJ will manage our own staff and coordinate our project partners to conduct a Pavement Condition Index (PCI-based) survey on 1,210 centerline miles of paved streets and collect International Roughness Index (IRI) values, and digital photography of Right of Way assets. The resulting data will empower Corpus Christi to better utilize their street repair and maintenance budgets by focusing their efforts where the biggest impacts will be realized.
Committed to our partners and Texas communities, HVJ’s staff of thoughtful communicators will provide excellence in engineering and deep guidance throughout this project, which represents a crucial milestone in Corpus Christi’s ongoing Infrastructure Management Program.
HVJ is grateful for this opportunity to deliver another successful infrastructure project that will enrich lives in this important Texas community.
