Passion for Water Delivery ensures Success of Leonard WTP & Pipeline

April 4, 2022

Having witnessed multiple droughts since our inception, HVJ’s staff has developed deep appreciation for the amount of planning and engineering that goes into the ability to pour a glass of water from a kitchen sink.

Working with our clients Black & Veatch, CP&Y, Jacobs, and AECOM, HVJ Associates® had the opportunity to help ensure smooth completion of this $1.6 billion project by providing geotechnical services amidst challenges like the need for “boots on the ground” in the field to respond in-person to questions from landowners. Then, there was the matter of mitigating the changes in rock and soil across miles of pipeline.

When fully operational, the plant will process 70 million gallons per day from the reservoir and distribute it to the communities of North Texas. HVJ is grateful to have had the chance to participate in what we might take for granted as we pour that glass of drinking water.

HVJ was proud to offer our guidance to oversee a project that is set to benefit the lives of Texans. It’s our goal to deliver peace of mind to each stakeholder before, during, and after the process. You can access the full case study on this project here.
