HVJ Associates® Selected for Mountain Creek Relief Interceptor  Project

September 9, 2021

HVJ Associates® is proud to announce its selection by Halff Associates, representing the Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA), for the Central Regional Wastewater System’s (CRWS) Mountain Creek Relief Interceptor (MCIS), Segments 09MC-1 and 30MC-2, Project.

The MCIS provides regional wastewater collection and treatment services to 20 cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, as well as the DFW International Airport. Segments 09MC-1 and 30MC-2 extend along North Fork Fish Creek, beginning northwest of the Great Southwest Parkway/IH-20 intersection and ending northeast of the Robison Road overpass at IH-20.

These segments, approximately 9,000 LF of 24-inch vitrified clay pipe originally installed in 1974, now require condition and capacity improvements as part of a commitment in the CRWS Sanitary Overflow Initiative with TCEQ.

HVJ Associates will provide geotechnical investigation and recommendations for open cut and trenchless wastewater line installation and recommendations for streambank stabilization at various locations to prevent erosion damage.

HVJ Associates understands the challenges of water and wastewater line projects in both rural and urban settings and will work to minimally impact the vegetated area surrounding the creek.
